The author considers the generalized Ramanujan's sum of the form \[ S_{f_1, f_2,\dots, f_{m+1}} =\sum_{\substack{ d_j\mid(n_1,\dots, n_{m+1})\\ j=1,\dots, m}} f_1(n_1/d_1)f_2(d_1/d_2)\dots f_m(d_{m-1}/d_m)f_{m+1}(d_m). \] For \(m=1\) this becomes the generalized Ramanujan's sum introduced in \textit{D. R. Anderson} and \textit{T. M. Apostol} [Duke Math. J. 20, 211--216 (1953; Zbl 0050.04205)], and for \(n_1=\cdots =n_{m+1}\) this becomes the Dirichlet convolution \(f_1\ast f_2\ast\cdots\ast f_{m+1}\). The author examines arithmetical properties and Dirichlet series of this sum. As an application, the author evaluates higher-dimensional determinants, the entries of which are values of the generalized Ramanujan's sum. These determinants are generalizations of Smith's determinant, see \textit{P. Haukkanen, J. Wang} and \textit{J. Sillanpää} [Linear Algebra Appl. 258, 251--269 (1997; Zbl 0883.15002)].
