Let \({\mathcal D}=V+i\Omega \) be an irreducible Hermitian symmetric tube domain, \(\underline{G}\) the identity component of the group of holomorphic automorphisms of \(\mathcal D\), and \(G\) the one of the group of linear automorphisms of the symmetric cone \(\Omega \). The representations of the holomorphic discrete series of \(\underline{G}\) of scalar type are parametrized by the so called Wallach set. This set consists of a half-line and a finite number of isolated points. The authors determine the decomposition of a representation of the holomorphic discrete series of scalar type corresponding to a point in the discrete part of the Wallach set. This representation can be realized in \(L^2(\partial _{\ell}\Omega ,\mu _{\ell})\), where \(\mu _{\ell}\) is a semi-invariant positive measure on a \(G\)-invariant subset \(\partial _{\ell}\Omega \) of the boundary of \(\Omega \). It is shown that this representation decomposes under \(G\) as a direct integral of spherical representations of \(G\). The Plancherel formula of this decomposition is computed explicitly.
