Let \(k\) be a field, \(A=k[{\mathbf x}]=k[x_1,\dots,x_n], B=k[\mathbf{y}]=k[y_1,\dots,y_m]\) be polynomial rings in \(n\) resp. \(m\) variables over \(k\) and let \(S=k[{\mathbf{x,y}}].\) Let \(I_1\subseteq I_2\) be homogeneous ideals of \(A\) and \(J_1\subseteq J_2\) be homogeneous ideals of \(B.\) Then \((I_1J_2+I_2J_1)S\) is an ideal of \(S\) called the mixed product of \(I_1, I_2\) and \(J_1, J_2.\) This definition generalizes the initial one given by \textit{G. Restuccia} and \textit{R. Villareal} [Commun. Algebra 29, 3571--3580 (2001; Zbl 1080.13509)]. The aim of the paper is to compute some invariants of the mixed product ideals in terms of that of \(I_1, I_2, J_1, J_2.\) The invariants considered are: dimension, multiplicity, depth, Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity and Hilbert-Poincaré series. It is shown that a mixed product ideal is Cohen-Macaulay only in very exceptional cases. As a consequence of the results of this paper the results of the papers by the reviewer and \textit{G. Rinaldo} [Arch. Math. 91, 20--30 (2008; Zbl 1229.13025) and Arch. Math. 91, 416--426 (2008; Zbl 1168.13020)] are obtained, with simpler proofs.
