The classical Wiener-Tauberian theorem states that every closed ideal in \(L^1(\mathbb{R}^n)\) is contained in a maximal ideals. Hence, if \(f\in L^1(\mathbb{R}^n)\) and the Fourier transform \(\widehat f\) is a nowhere vanishing function on \(\mathbb{R}^n\), then the closed ideal generated by \(f\) is whole of \(L^1(\mathbb{R}^n)\). The main purpose of this article is to extend the classical Wiener-Tauberian theorem to the Euclidean motion group \(M(2)\). The authors prove two sided and one sided analogues of the Wiener-Tauberian theorem on \(M(2)\).
