The authors present some new third-order iterative methods for finding a simple root of a non-linear equation \(f(x)=0\) in \(\mathbb R\). A geometric approach based on the circle of curvature is used to construct the new methods. It is shown that the convergence of the new method is of third order. Some numerical examples are presented to check the efficiency. Also the methods compete with Newton's method and classical third order methods.
