Picard-Vessiot theory is the Galois theory in the context of linear differential equations. As in the classical case for polynomials, the differential case studies the solvability of linear differential equations by means of the solvability of the connected identity component of its differential Galois group, which is algebraic. In Picard-Vessiot theory, usually, differential fields with algebraically field of constants are considered. The extension of the differential field is a differential Galois extension when it is generated over the differential field by a full set of solutions of a linear homogeneous differential equation (with coefficients in the differential field) and its field of constants coincides with the field of constants of the differential field. The paper under review considers differential field extensions which do not satisfy the second condition to be a differential Galois extension.
