The authors study a class of semi-Riemannian manifolds known as pseudosymmetric. (A semi-Riemannian manifold is pseudosymmetric if two very complicated tensors, each depending on the curvature tensor only pointwise, turn out to be linearly dependent. For a definition, the reader can consult the article, or [\textit{R. Deszcz}, Bull. Soc. Math. Belg., Sér. A 44, No.~1, 1--34 (1992; Zbl 0808.53012)]). The authors claim that, if there is a diffeomorphism between semi-Riemannian manifolds preserving unparameterized geodesics, then one of the manifolds is pseudosymmetric if and only if the other is. They give no proof. The claim is a purely local statement about curvature, and so the proof should be a long elementary calculation. The authors provide a long, elementary calculation which they claim is relevant to the proof. The analogous claim for diffeomorphisms preserving parameterized geodesics is proven in [\textit{F. Defever} and \textit{R. Deszcz}, Colloq. Math. 62, No.~2, 313--319 (1991; Zbl 0810.53008)].
