The results of \textit{M. Abate} [Duke Math. J. 107, 173--207 (2001; Zbl 1015.37035)] on holomorphic maps of \(\mathbb C^n\) tangent to the identity are generalised to higher dimensions, in the case of absolutely isolated singularities: there are still only isolated singularities after any sequence of point blow-ups. The theorem proved here states that after finitely many blow-ups the map has only simple singularities. Roughly speaking, these are singularities which cannot be further simplified by blowing-up.
