Let \(F\) be a genus two Siegel newform and \(g\) a classical newform, both of squarefree and of equal weight \(\ell\). In this interesting paper, the author gives an explicit integral representation of the degree eight \(L\)-function \(L(s,F\times g)\). The result easily implies that \(L(s,F\times g)\) is a meromorphic function whose only possible pole on the right of the critical line \(\text{Re}(s)=\frac{1}{2}\) is simple and at \(s=1\). The method is based on a pullback formula for Siegel type Eisenstein series on \(\text{GU}(3,3)\). As an application, he proves a reciprocity law for the critical special values \(L(m,F\times g)\) where \(m\in\mathbb{Z}\) with \(2\leq m\leq \leq \ell/2-1\).
