Summary: We show that Loday's realization [\textit{J.-L. Loday}, ``Realization of the Stasheff polytope,'' Arch. Math. 83, No.\,3, 267--278 (2004; Zbl 1059.52017)] of the associahedron has the the same center of gravity as the permutahedron. This proves an observation made by \textit{F. Chapoton}, \textit{S. Fomin}, and \textit{A. Zelevinsky} [``Polytopal realizations of generalized associahedra,'' Can. Math. Bull. 45, No.\,4, 537--566 (2002; Zbl 1018.52007)]. We also prove that this result holds for the associahedron and the cyclohedron as realized by the first author and C. Lange [\textit{C. Hohlweg} and \textit{C.E.M.C. Lange}, ``Realizations of the associahedron and cyclohedron,'' Discrete Comput. Geom. 37, No.\,4, 517--543 (2007; Zbl 1125.52001)].
