The authors introduce the concept of a \(D^*\)-metric space as a modification of the definition of a \(D\)-metric space due to \textit{B. G. Dhage} [Bull. Calcutta Math. Soc. 84, No.~4, 329--336 (1992; Zbl 0782.54037)]. Using the new concept, they define the notion of an \(\mathcal{M}\)-fuzzy metric space. Finally, they prove a related fixed point theorem for three maps among three complete fuzzy metric spaces.
