    The main results of this paper are characterizations of those paratopological vector spaces that are quasi-metrizable, locally bounded, quasi-metrizable and locally convex, and quasi-normable, respectively, as follows: Let (\(X,\tau\)) be a paratopological vector space. Then {\parindent7mm \begin{itemize}\item[(1)] (\(X,\tau\)) is quasi-metrizable (resp., quasi-metrizable and locally convex) if and only if there is a fuzzy quasi-norm (\(N,\cdot\)) (resp., \((N,\wedge)\)) on \(X\) compatible with \(\tau\). \item[(2)] (\(X,\tau\)) is locally bounded (resp., quasi-normable) if and only if there is a strong fuzzy quasi-norm \((N,\cdot)\) (resp., (\(N,\wedge\))) and \(X\) compatible with \(\tau\). \end{itemize}}
