Perturbation classes were introduced in Fredholm theory in order to study the stability of Fredholm and semi-Fredholm operators under additive perturbations. In this paper, the authors study the perturbation class \(P\Phi_{+}(L_p,Y)\) for upper semi-Fredholm operators when \(\Phi_{+}(L_p,Y)\) is nonempty, and the relations of this class with strictly singular operators.
