The paper deals with the problem of the reconstruction of a ferromagnetic material parameter describing the electromagnetic losses at a part of the Lipschitz continuous boundary of a bounded domain in \(\mathbb R^3\) in static electromagnetism. In order to guarantee the uniqueness of the solution on the underlying boundary value problem, an additional boundary condition, called iron loss boundary condition, is imposed. Then the existence and uniqueness of a weak solution is proved and a Newton-type reconstruction method is presented and tested numerically.
