This text provides a rather thorough coverage of the usual material of a second-year calculus course. The ten chapter headings are: Numerical series, Series of Functions and power series, Fourier series, Functions between Euclidean spaces, Differential calculus for scalar functions, Differential calculus for vector-valued functions, Applying differential calculus, Integral calculus in several variables, Integral calculus on curves and surfaces, and Ordinary differential equations. The book is very readable. Each chapter begins with definitions and examples, and closes with a fairly extensive set of exercises, and answers to the exercises, sometimes with a sketch of how the answer is found, are given immediately following each set of exercises. There is probably more material here than most users will be able to cover in a two-semester course, so that some decisions will need to be made about what to exclude. The book looks like a good candidate for a textbook upon which to base a second course in calculus.
