This paper concerns the Keller-Segel system of degenerate type (KS)\(_m\) with \(m>1\) below: \(\partial _tu=\partial _x(\partial _x(u^m)-u^{q-1}\partial _xv)\), \(x\in \mathbb R\), \(t>0\); \(0=\partial _{xx} v-\gamma v+u\), \(x\in \mathbb R\), \(t>0\); \(u(x,0)=u_0(x)\), \(x\in \mathbb R\). The uniqueness of weak solutions of the system with the regularity of \(\partial_t u \in L^1_{\text{loc}}(\mathbb R \times (0,T))\) is proved. It is also proved than in fact every weak solution of the system is in fact a strong solution. These results are obtained as applications of the Aronson-Bénilan type estimate to the (KS)\(_m\) system.
