The starting point of developments presented in this paper is a Lie group \(G\) that can be written as product of two such subgroups both of which are endowed with Poisson - Lie structures. The \(PL\) \(T\)-duality is built on the Hamiltonian action of \(G\) on the cotangent bundles of its factors giving rise to momentum maps with nontrivial intersections in the dual space \({\mathfrak g}^*\) of its Lie algebra \({\mathfrak g}\). This construction is exemplified by considering in detail the Lie group \(SL(2,\mathbb{C})\) and its Iwasawa factors. On the way the relations with Adler-Kostant-Symes theory are clarified. The possible applications in the infinite-dimensional case are indicated as well.
