Let \(H\) be a Hilbert space and let \(T \in B(H)\) be a contraction. Assume that (i) \(\text{dim\, Ker}(T -\lambda I) = n < \infty\) for all \(\lambda\) in the unit disk \(\mathcal D\), (ii) span \(\bigcup_{\lambda \in \mathcal D}\text{Ker} (T -\lambda I) = H\), and (iii) Ker \((T - \lambda I)\) depends analytically on \(\lambda\). In a previous paper [Publ.\ Mat., Barc.\ 53, No.\,2, 417--438 (2009; Zbl 1190.47002)], the authors showed that for such a \(T\) the following four statements are equivalent. (The precise form of (2), (3) and (4) is very technical.) {\parindent=6mm\begin{itemize}\item[(1)] \(T\) is similar to \(S^*_n\) the backward shift of multiplicity \(n\). \item[(2)] The eigenvector bundles of \(T\) and \(S^*_n\) are ``uniformly equivalent''. \item[(3)] The Green potential of an expression containing the mean curvature of the eigenvector bundle of \(T\) is uniformly bounded inside the disk \(\mathcal D\). \item[(4)] A measure related to the mean curvature of the eigenvector bundle of \(T\) is a Carleson measure. \end{itemize}} In addition, they also showed that, if \(T\) is not a contraction, it can satisfy condition (2), but not (1). In the present paper, the authors show that there is a \(T\) which is ``almost a coisometry'' satisfying conditions (i), (ii) and (iii) for \(n=1\) and also satisfying (2), (3) and (4), but \(T\) is not similar to \(S^*_1\).
