\textit{O. Pedersen}, ``A survey of the Almagest'' was first published in 1974 in Odense [Zbl 0343.01003], it contained 454 pages. The new edition presents the unaltered text of Pedersen, only little errors have been corrected. The new edition is supplied with ``Supplementary Notes'' and a ``Supplementary Bibliography'' (pp. 455--476 and 477--480, resp.), written by Alexander Jones.
