The aim of this work consists in proving the standard module conjecture [\textit{W. Casselman} and \textit{F. Shahidi}, Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér., II. Sér. 31, No. 4, 561--589 (1998; Zbl 0947.11022)]. Let \(G\) be a quasi-split \(p\)-adic group. Assume that the local coefficients \(C_\psi\) which are defined with respect to the \(\psi\)-generic tempered representations of the standard Levi subgroups of \(G\) are regular in the negative Weyl chamber. It is then proved that the Langlands quotient of a standard module is generic iff the standard module is irreducible.
