The relation between a point \(x=cos\theta \in [-1,1]\) and a point \(z=e^{i\theta}\) on the unit circle is given by Zhukovski transformation \(\frac{1}{2}(z+z^{-1})\). Because \(\int_{-1}^{1}f(x)u(x)dx=\frac{1}{2}\int_{-\pi}^{\pi}f(cos\theta )\omega (\theta )d\theta\) with \(\omega (\theta )=u(cos\theta )| sin\theta |\), then the orthogonal polynomials (OP) on the interval \([-1,1]\) defined by the measure \(u(x)dx\) are related to the OP on the unit circle defined by the measure \(\omega (\theta )d\theta\). This relation, given by Szegö , is generalized by the authors to orthogonal rational functions (ORF) with prescribed complex poles. The authors recall the knowing cases of ORF sequences on \([-1,1]\) defined by the weight functions \(u(x)=(1-x)^a(1+x)^b\) with particular values of \((a,b)\) and obtain explicit expressions for ORF with \((a,b)=( \frac{1}{2} ,-\frac{1}{2})\) and \((-\frac{1}{2},\frac{1}{2})\). The corresponding ORF on the unit circle are given.
