The fixed point index of a given map on an ENR (Euclidean neighborhood retract) provides an algebraic count of the number of fixed points. \textit{J. Leray} and \textit{J. Schauder} [Ann. Sci. Éc. Norm. Supér., III. Ser. 51, 45--78 (1934; Zbl 0009.07301)] successfully generalized the index to infinitely dimensional spaces. This generalized index is widely used in analysis and named after them. The author of this paper constructs more generalizations of the Leray-Schauder index to the case that a Lie group action and a fibre structure are both involved. The generalized fibrewise indices for fixed points and for vector field are both considered. Some basic properties of this new index are given. Moreover, the author illustrates some connections of this fibrewise index with the Fuller index and Seiberg-Witten invariants.
