Euler's \textit{Vollständige Anleitung zur Algebra} from 1770 is claimed to be the second most printed book in mathematics. This four-page article discusses the origin of the problems in the book, arguing that they are based in large part on the problems in Stifel's 1525 edition of Rudolff's \textit{Coss}. The author speculates that Euler's motive for using a 250 year old source may have been sentimental, his own father having taught him basic mathematics from this book. Because of Euler, many 19th century textbooks in algebra included problems from Rudolff as well.
