The symmetry axiom in Minkowski planes (Q998223)

The paper gives a synthetic proof that in a symmetric Minkowski plane the rectangle axiom holds. The proof is not algebraic and involves geometric configuration theorems. The paper also gives the definition of symmetric Minkowski plane of characteristic \(2\): that is a plane with a pair of orthogonal and tangent circles, and then such that every pair of tangent circles is orthogonal. The involutory homotheties for a symmetric Minkowski plane with characteristic \(\neq 2\) are characterized.
