Java: Data structures and programming. Incl. 1 CD-ROM
Li's book on Java is written for practitioners of software development and for students of computer science, providing beautiful and balanced specific features that cover the Java virtual machine (JVM) language, complexity analysis, as well as data structures and the Java class files. Other distinctive and valuable characteristics of this Java book are: the author (a) presents the problem of maximum flow, (b) implements algorithms in Java to evaluate maximum flow for networks, (c) introduces persistent data structures to be included in programming applications (projects) etc. The book contains four parts: Part I (Java Programming) shows how Java language supports the object-oriented concepts, Java language constructs for data modeling, and Java standard data structure classes. Part II (Computation Analysis) presents the JVM as an abstract machine (Chap. 5) and relates the analysis of data structures and algorithms to the notions of Java programming (Chap. 6). Part III (Data Structures) describes classes for linear linked lists (Chap. 7), trees (Chap. 8), graphs (Chap. 9) and networks (Chap. 10). The final Part IV (Data Persistence) presents the classes and interfaces for the Java serialization mechanism. Object (Chap. 11) and data structure serialization (Chap. 12) are included. The book proposes relevant exercises and assignments to the discussed topics. All the Java source code listed inside the book is contained in the attached CD-ROM, the Java classes might be copied to a hard-drive disk and compiled with a Java compiler.
