Jordan decomposition
From MaRDI portal
This is a survey of some recent papers on the additive and multiplicative Jordan decomposition (into semisimple and nilpotent parts and into semisimple and unipotent parts, respectively) for matrices over perfect fields, the extensions to group algebras over perfect fields, the decomposition over integral domains, and on group rings over integral domains of characteristic zero. Backgrounds of the classical and the recent results accompanied by sketches of proofs are given. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0911.00010].
