The classical Klein-Maskit combination theorems provide fundamental tools for constructing new Kleinian groups. The paper under review extends these theorems to Anosov subgroups of semisimple Lie groups. The authors introduce generalizations of both the amalgamated free product theorem and the HNN extension theorem for Anosov subgroups.\N\NUnlike the classical setting, where convergence group properties are utilized, the authors develop new techniques relying on regular subgroups and equivariant boundary maps to establish the higher-rank convergence property. A key result (Theorem A) states that given two Anosov subgroups \(\Gamma_A\) and \(\Gamma_B\) of a semisimple Lie group \(G\), satisfying specific quasiconvexity and antipodal conditions, their amalgamated product \(\Gamma_A *_{H} \Gamma_B\) is also Anosov. Theorem B extends this result to the case of HNN extensions, providing conditions under which an Anosov subgroup remains Anosov after an extension by a hyperbolic element.\N\NThe paper builds upon prior work by the authors and collaborators on Anosov representations and their geometric properties. Several illustrative examples demonstrate the applicability of the main theorems to Hitchin representations and deformations of fundamental groups of surfaces, as previously studied by the authors [Math. Z. 305, No. 2, Paper No. 35, 25 p. (2023; Zbl 1527.20063)]. The results extend combination theorems to Anosov subgroups, connecting them with geometric group theory and higher-rank rigidity.
