Limit \& continuity of functions.
Introductory exposition (textbooks, tutorial papers, etc.) pertaining to real functions (26-01) Foundations: limits and generalizations, elementary topology of the line (26A03) One-variable calculus (26A06) Continuity and related questions (modulus of continuity, semicontinuity, discontinuities, etc.) for real functions in one variable (26A15)
This book is the first one in the series `Mathematical Analysis' and deals with limits and continuity of real functions. The theory and the solution methodology is presented in a way easily understood by last year high school students. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEA wide range of problems, both solved and unsolved, are presented in increasing order of difficulty. A great effort is taken to ensure that the proposed unsolved problems are not more difficult than the solved ones.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe book is divided into three parts, the first of which is an introduction to real functions, the second deals with limits of functions, including undetermined forms and the algebra of limit manipulations and the last chapter treats continuity of functions. Finally, the book concludes with a series of general problems that are bound to challenge even the most well trained students.
