Line graph of extensions of the zero-divisor graph in commutative rings
Let \(R\) be a commutative ring with identity and \(Z(R)^* = Z(R)\setminus \{0\}\) is the set of all non-zero zero-divisors of \(R.\) There are several graph constructions from commutative rings. In this paper, authors consider two such constructions. The essential graph of \(R\) is denoted as \(EG(R)\) with \(Z(R)^*\) as the vertex set, and two distinct vertices \(x\) and \(y\) are adjacent if and only if \(\mathrm{ann}(xy)\) is an essential ideal of \(R.\) On the other hand, the weakly zero-divisor graph of \(R\) is denoted by \(W\Gamma(R)\) with \(Z(P)^*\) as the vertex set and two distinct vertices \(u\) and \(v\) are adjacent if and only if there exist \(r\in \mathrm{ann}(u)^*\) and \(s\in \mathrm{ann}(v)^*\) such that \(rs = 0.\) Note that, for an element \(u\in R,\) the annhilator ideal \(\mathrm{ann}(u)=\{v\in R:uv = 0\}.\) In this paper, the authors classified rings \(R\) for which the graphs \(EG(R)\) and \(W\Gamma(R)\) are line graphs of some graphs. Also authors dealt with the situation where these two graphs are complements of line graphs.
