It is proved that the hypercube group \(B_n\) is maximal in the orthogonal group \(O(n)\) as a closed subgroup when \(n=3\) or \(n\geq 5\). When \(n=4\), all closed intermediate groups are described. The result can be used in equivariant bifurcation theory.
