Minimal surface entropy and average area ratio
From MaRDI portal
The paper under review proves that among Riemannian metrics \(g\) with scalar curvature greater than or equal to \(-6\) on a closed hyperbolizable \(3\)-manifold the minimal surface entropy is maximized by the hyperbolic metric. As a corollary the authors establish a conjecture of \textit{M. Gromov} [Geom. Funct. Anal. 1, No. 1, 14--79 (1991; Zbl 0768.53011)] regarding the average area ratio.
