Monotone method for first order nonlocal hyperbolic initial-boundary value problems
Over the past several years, many authors have successfully applied the monotone method to nonlinear differential equations. Based on the comparison principle, such a method involves the construction of monotone sequences of upper and lower solutions that converge uniformly to the solution of the problem being considered. The paper describes the extension of the monotone method to nonlocal hyperbolic initial-boundary value problems of first order. A comparison principle is established, and linear convergence of monotone sequences of upper and lower solutions is shown.
