More characterizations of the matrix trace
From MaRDI portal
Numerous characterizations of the usual matrix trace are known in the literature. In this interesting note, several new characterizations are established, among them one involving the commutator of two Hermitian matrices, another related to an arithmetic-geometric mean inequality, and another employing the positivity of certain block matrices.
