Multidimensional short-time fractional Fourier transform

From MaRDI portal

Let \(f\in L^2 (\mathbb{R}^d)\), and \(g\in L^2 (\mathbb{R}^d)\) be a nonzero window function and \(\alpha \in (0,2\pi)^d\). The multidimensional short-time fractional Fourier transform (MSTFrFT) of a function \(f\in L^2 (\mathbb{R}^d)\) with respect to a nonzero window function \(g\in L^2 (\mathbb{R}^d)\) of order \(\alpha\) is defined as follows\N\[\NV_g^\alpha f(x,w)=\int _{\mathbb{R}^d}f(t)\overline{g(t-x)}K_\alpha (w,t)dt.\N\]\NHere \(K_\alpha(w,t)\) is the kernel of the multidimensional fractional Fourier transform of order \(\alpha\). Some properties of this notion are described. The technique for calculating this operator is demonstrated using the example of the Dirac delta function. \(d\)-dimensional and \(2d\)-dimensional inverse transform of MSTFrFT are considered. Moreover, some sufficient conditions for the boundedness of MSTFrFT acting in Lebesgue spaces are established.
