Multiple comparisons with the mean
Multiple Comparisons with the Mean (MCM), also known in its graphical form as Analysis of Means (ANOM), compares \(\mu_{i}-\bar{\mu}\) or \(\mu_{i}-\bar{\bar{\mu}}\) for \(i=i,\dots,k\), where \(\bar{\mu}={1\over{k}}\sum_{i=1}^{k}\mu_{i}\) is the unweighted mean and \(\bar{\bar{\mu}}={1\over{N}}\sum_{i=1}^{k}n_{i}\mu_{i}\) is the weighted mean of the \(\mu_{i}\)'s, to identify treatments with means significantly different from the grand mean. The authors propose algorithms to compute probabilities associated with MCM. For small number of treatments an algorithm involving complex variables integration is proposed. For large number of treatments two simple approximations are considered. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0990.62506].
