On a general relation of continued fractions.
From MaRDI portal
Es sei \(a_k \,\dot{+}\, \frac{1}{a_{k+1}}\, \dot{+}\, \frac{1}{a_{k+2}} + \cdots \dot{+}\, \frac{1}{a_l}=(k,l)\) gesetzt; Verf. beweist dann die allgemeine Relation: \[ \prod_{\lambda=k}^{l-1} (\lambda,n) \cdot \prod_{\mu=n}^{m+1}(\mu,l)= \prod_{\mu=n}^{m+1}(\mu,k) \cdot \prod_{\lambda=k}^{l-1}(\lambda,m) \] \[ (k<l<m<n), \] welche für den Spezialfall \(k=1\), \(l=2\), \(m=n-1\) schon bei \textit{Möbius} großes Interesse erregt hat.
