On a method for verifying hyperbolicity
From MaRDI portal
The authors find sufficient conditions to ensure hyperbolicity of a compact and invariant set \(A\) of a \(C^1\) diffeomorphism \(f\colon U\to M\), where \(M\) is an \(m\)-dimensional Riemmanian manifold, \(m\geqslant 2\), \(U\subset M\) is open and \(A\subset U\). They apply their main result, namely Theorem 1, to a diffeomorphism from a full torus in \(\mathbb{R}^3\) into \(\mathbb{R}^3\), and prove, in Theorem 2, that its attractor is hyperbolic. In Theorem 3, they also provide a multidimensional example.
