On a starlikeness problem for certain class of multivalent analytic functions

From MaRDI portal

Let \(S^*_p(\alpha)\) denote the class of functions \(f\) of the form \[ f(z)= z^p+ \sum^\infty_{n= p+1} a_nz^n,\quad| z|<1 \] regular and \(p\)-valent in the unit disk satisfying \(\text{Re }{zf'(z)\over f(z)}> \alpha\). A function \(f\) of the same form regular for \(| z|< 1\) is said to belong to the class \(CS^*_p(\alpha)\) if there exists a function \(g\in S^*_p(\alpha)\) such that \(\text{Re}\left({f(z)\over g(z)}\right)> 0\), \(| z|< 1\). Also let \(B({\mathcal A})\) denote the set of all pairs \((| a|,r)\), \(| a|< r<1-| a|\) such that \(f\in{\mathcal A}\) maps the disk \(k(a,r)= \{z:| z-a|< r\}\) onto a starlike region. For \({\mathcal A}= CS^*_p(\alpha)\), the set \(B({\mathcal A})\) is determined for \(p/2\leq\alpha< p\), and an estimate is found for \(0\leq\alpha< p/2\). For \(\alpha= 0\), \(p=1\) an earlier result of the author is deducible.
