On a weighted anisotropic eigenvalue problem

From MaRDI portal

Let \(\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^N\) (\(N\geq 2\)) be an open, bounded and connected set and let \(p\in(1,\infty)\) and \(q\in(1,p^\star)\) be two real numbers, where \(p^\star\) stands for the critical Sobolev exponent. In this paper is studied the following minimization problem \N\[\N\inf_{u\in W_0^{1,p}(\Omega)\setminus\{0\}}\frac{\int_\Omega H(\nabla u)^p\;dx}{\left(\int_\Omega m|u|^q\;dx\right)^{p/q}},\N\] \Nwhere \(m\in L^\infty(\Omega)\) is a positive function and \(H:\mathbb{R}^N\rightarrow[0,\infty]\) is a \(C^1(\mathbb{R}^N\setminus\{0\})\) convex and positively \(1\)-homogeneous function. Additionally, the corresponding eigenvalue problem, which can be associated with the above minimization problem, is investigated. In particular, the main properties of the first eigenvalue and a reverse Hölder-type inequality for the corresponding eigenfunctions are analyzed.
