Einige Hauptergebnisse der Dissertation des Verf. (Göttinger Preisarbeit 1911) werden hier mit vereinfachtem Beweise reproduziert. Die Vereinfachung beruht darauf, daß überall bei der Diskussion die trigonometrischen Reihen vorangestellt und die entsprechenden Theoreme über Annäherung mittels Polynome daraus hergeleitet werden. -- In einem zweiten Teil werden obere numerische Grenzen für die absoluten Konstanten berechnet, die in diesen Sätzen auftreten.
