On certain functional equations.

Aus sehr einfachen Überlegungen folgt: Die ganzen Funktionen, welche der Gleichung \(P^2 + Q^2 = 1\) genügen, sind von der Form \(P = \cos[f(z)]\) und \(Q = \sin [f(z)]\), wobei \(f(z)\) irgend eine ganze Funktion bedeutet. Sind \(P\) und \(Q\) überdies periodisch und von endlicher Ordnung, so gilt \(P = \cos(az + b)\), \(Q = \sin(az + b)\). Dagegen ergibt sich aus dem Picardschen Satz, daß die nichtkonstanten Lösungen der Gleichung \(P^n + Q^n = 1\), \(n \geqq 3\), keine ganzen Funktionen sein können.
