On indices of maximal chains in finite groups
From MaRDI portal
In the article under review, the authors introduce the new concepts of maximal \(<\)-chains and maximal \(>\)-chains in finite groups in order to study their structure through properties of these chains. Among the results, the authors prove that a finite group \(G\) is supersolvable if \(G\) has two chains of the same length, one of which is a \(<\)-chain and the other is a \(>\)-chain. Also, they classify finite groups in which every maximal chain in every proper subgroup is a \(<\)-chain or a \(>\)-chain.
