On one property of normal Hall subgroups of finite groups

This paper investigates a generalization of a classical result by \textit{R. Baer} [Can. J. Math. 11, 353--369 (1959; Zbl 0088.02402)] on the Frattini subgroup of a normal Sylow subgroup, which is recovered as a special case of the more general statement that, for certain subgroup \(m\)-functors~\(\theta\), the so-called Frattini~\(\theta\)-subgroup of a normal Hall subgroup~\(H\) of a finite group~\(G\) coincides with \(H \cap \Phi_\theta(G)\). The authors define the Hall \(\Phi\) property for subgroup \(m\)-functors \(\theta\) via the identity \(\Phi_\theta(H) = H \cap \Phi_\theta(G)\) and proceed to construct large classes of such functors, both regular and non-regular.\N\NThe main result (Theorem~2) proves that for any class \(X\) of simple groups, the \(m\)-functor \(\theta_{E_X}\), selecting maximal subgroups containing the \(E_X\)-radical, satisfies the Hall \(\Phi\) property. The proof is meticulous and combines known properties of Fitting classes, hereditary formations, and subgroup lattice theory. The authors also discuss the non-regularity of certain \(\theta_{E_X}\) (depending on \(X\)) and identify infinite families of \(\Phi\)-equivalent \(m\)-functors satisfying the Hall \(\Phi\) property.
