On quasinormal Fitting classes

The paper under review studies quasinormal Fitting classes, a generalization of normal Fitting classes in the context of finite groups. Building on classical results by \textit{D. Blessenohl} and \textit{W. Gaschütz} [Math. Z. 118, 1--8 (1970; Zbl 0208.03301)], the authors extend the well-known result that the intersection of non-identity normal Fitting classes remains a non-identity normal Fitting class. The main contribution of the paper is proving an analogous result for \(\mathfrak{X}\)-quasinormal Fitting classes, showing that their intersection is also \(\mathfrak{X}\)-quasinormal (Theorem 2).\N\NThe concept of \(\mathfrak{X}\)-quasinormality was introduced by \textit{A. R. Makan} [J. Lond. Math. Soc., II. Ser. 8, 245--246 (1974; Zbl 0286.20018)] as a generalization of normality for Fitting classes using wreath products: a Fitting class \(\mathfrak{F}\) is \(\mathfrak{X}\)-quasinormal if, whenever \(\mathfrak{F} \subseteq \mathfrak{X}\), \(G \in \mathfrak{F}\) and \(G \wr \mathbb{Z}_p \in \mathfrak{X}\) for some prime \(p\), there exists an integer \(m\) such that \(G^m \wr \mathbb{Z}_p \in \mathfrak{F}\).\N\NAn important result (Theorem 1) shows that \(\mathfrak{X}\)-quasinormality does not imply \(\mathfrak{X}\)-normality, nor vice versa. The authors provide explicit counterexamples demonstrating the existence of Fitting classes that satisfy one condition but not the other.
