Review text

The relationship between a Durrmeyer type modification of the Szász-Mirakjan operators and a Cauchy problem is investigated. In several situation the solution of the considered Cauchy problem is strongly related to the image of a function under the introduced operators, and then this image can be determined by direct calculations.
