On the multiple packing densities of triangles
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Given a convex disk and a positive integer , let and denote the -fold translative packing density and the -fold lattice packing density of , respectively. Let be a triangle. In a very recent paper, K. Sriamorn proved that . In this paper, I will show that .
The author presents a proof that for every triangle the \(k\)-fold translative packing density and the \(k\)-fold lattice packing density are equal. He adds the following consequence: since the second density equals to \(\frac{2k^2}{2k+1}\) (by the author's statement published till now only in [``Multiple lattice packings and coverings of the plane with triangles, Preprint, \url{arXiv:1412.5096}]), also the first has the same value.
