On weaving operator-valued frames

From MaRDI portal

The authors study weaving of operator-valued frames (OPV frames) in separable Hilbert spaces. Let \(\mathcal H\) be a Hilbert space, \(I\) a (countable) index set, and \({\mathcal H_i}_{i\in I}\) Hilbert spaces. Given \(M\) OPV frames of the form \(G^{(j)}=\{\mathcal{G}_i^{(j)}\}_{i \in I}\), where \(\mathcal{G}_i^{(j)} \in \mathcal{B}(\mathcal{H}, \mathcal{H}_i)\), the authors consider the weaving of these OPV frames based on partitions \(\sigma = \{\sigma_j : j \in [M]\}\) of the index set \(I\). The family of \(M\) OPV frames \(\{G^{(j)}\}_{j=1}^M\) is weakly woven if for every partition \(\sigma\), the weaving \(\{\mathcal{G}_i^{(j)}\}_{i \in \sigma_j, j \in [M]}\) is a frame. It is woven if it is weakly woven with uniform frame bounds.\N\NIn the main theorem (Theorem 1.2) the authors prove the equivalence between ``weakly woven and ``woven of OPV frames; generalizing the corresponding result for frames in [\textit{T. Bemrose} et al., Oper. Matrices 10, No. 4, 1093--1116 (2016; Zbl 1358.42025)] to OPV frames. The authors explain why a naive ``reduction to vector frames fails here: coordinate expansions break the per-index partition structure required for OPV frame weaving.
