Optimisation of functional determinants on the circle

In this book chapter, the authors deal with the functional determinant of differential operators over essentially bounded functions as an optimal control problem on the linear group of real matrices. For the one-dimensional case, they prove the existence and uniqueness of maximizers and minimizers.\N\NFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1565.49001].
