Orthogonal symmetric Toeplitz matrices
From MaRDI portal
Let \(\mathbb{R}^{n \times n}\) be the set of all real \(n\times n\) matrices. The author shows, in this paper, that orthogonal and symmetric Toeplitz matrices are finitely many in \(\mathbb{R}^{n \times n}\). The proof is constructive and gives a full description of all those matrices. As a corollary, he deals with the inverse eigenvalue problem of finding all symmetric Toeplitz matrices in \(\mathbb{R}^{n \times n}\) that have two given distinct real numbers as eigenvalues and no other eigenvalues.
