Parametric formal Gevrey asymptotic expansions in two complex time variable problems

From MaRDI portal

This article is devoted to the analysis of the asymptotic relation existing between the analytic and the formal solutions of a family of singularly perturbed nonlinear partial differential equations in two complex time variables of the form\N\begin{multline*}\NQ(\partial_z)u(t_1,t_2,z,\varepsilon)=\varepsilon^{\Delta_{0}}(t_1^{k_1+1}\partial_{t_1})^{\delta_{1}}(t_2^{k_2+1}\partial_{t_2})^{\delta_{2}}R(\partial_z)u(t_1,t_2,z,\varepsilon)\\\N+P(t_1,t_2,\partial_{t_1},\partial_{t_2},z,\partial_z,\varepsilon)u(t_1,t_2,z,\varepsilon)+\\\N+(P_1(\varepsilon,\partial_z)u(t_1,t_2,z,\varepsilon))(P_2(\varepsilon,\partial_z)u(t_1,t_2,z,\varepsilon))+f(t_1,t_2,z,\varepsilon),\N\end{multline*}\Nunder given initial conditions \(u(0,t_2,z,\varepsilon)\equiv u(t_1,0,z,\varepsilon)\equiv0\), where \(t_1\) and \(t_2\) stand for two complex time variables, \(z\) stands for a spatial variable, and where \(\varepsilon\) stands for a small complex parameter.\N\NThe authors prove in particular that the analytic continuation properties of the solution of an auxiliary problem in the Borel plane overcomes the absence of adequate domains which would guarantee summability of the formal solution. Moreover, several exponential decay rates of the difference of analytic solutions with respect to the perturbation parameter at the origin are observed, leading to several asymptotic levels relating the analytic and the formal solution.
